Our campaign wanted to address the behavior of the church towards sexual abuse, both in dealing with past cases and in protecting potential victims. We wanted to draw the viewer's attention to the multitude of abuse cases in the Catholic Church with provocative visuals. We used the visual language of neon lights in red-light districts around the world to emphasize the duality between faith and sexuality. We chose gegen-missbrauch e.V. as a potential supporter for the campaign. Unfortunately, this campaign was never published.
Specifically, we have developed these 4 key visuals:
To pick up the traditional cross of the christian church we chose here the phallisation of this symbol with the longitudinal beam as an anal chain.

Since you are not allowed to use the name of god in vain we had allowed ourselves a joke here. Alluding to exclamations during sexual intercourse we chose a neon sign with an increasingly dramatic spelling for "oh god" - the tagline of our campaign
Here we have used the image of the Catholic Bible. The inscription "Peep Show" in combination with the cross should catch and keep the viewer's eye.

Our best visual was probably the pope with his boots. Here we have a very provocative interpretation of the pope - the purpose of this illustration is now more than clear.
